Spinach Smoothie

This recipe was shared with me by my friend Gloria. It’s so refreshing and has this amazing nuttiness from the almond milk. Best of all, it’s super healthy! I’ve yet to find a raw foods recipe that is this tasty, but if you guys have any you think might match it…please share! Anything healthy that also tastes good has a place in my recipe stash. I won’t pretend to be a vegan health nut, but I do fantasize about it. I think I just love butter and cream way too much!

What you’ll need:

  • Fresh Spinach (about 2 handfuls)
  • 1/2 or Whole Banana sliced
  • 1 tsp Coconut Oil
  • 1 tbs Ground Flax Seeds
  • Honey (to taste)
  • 1- 1 1/2 cup Almond Milk
  • ice (optional)

Tips: You don’t really need to measure! Just eyeball it, throw it in the blender, and boo-yah! Way more fun and less clean-up.

Fill your blender loosely with Spinach.

Add sliced Bananas and Coconut Oil (not shown).

Add ground Flax Seeds.

Drizzle on Honey. By the way, if you get the sweetened Almond Milk you may not want very much honey. I like to get the unsweetened so I can control the sweetness.

Pour in Almond Milk.

Blend and enjoy! I really tried to get an action blending shot, but I have an immersion blender. I think you guys know all about blending and how it looks, so give me a break. Also, I’m aware that I could have just said, “Add everything to a blender and blend.” Buuut… how else would I have gotten all this practice in photography and posting. :) I’m new to all this, so please look past the¬†amateur-ness of it all. It will get better!
